Natural remedies for damaged hair

Tues, 29 Jul.

Healthy hair plays an important part in enhancing the individual personality and can help boost one’s confidence. Use of shampoos and conditioners made from strong chemical formula, excessive use of chemicals and frequent exposure to heat lead to damaged hair. Straightening, curling and back combing hair lead to the hair roots getting weak to the extent where the hair does not have the strength to nourish itself. Taking medications can help gain the healthy hair, however they have side effects which may lead to further problems. In order to avoid such problems, an individual need to opt for natural remedies to repair damaged hair.

1. Use of Avocado

Mixing mashed avocado with an egg and using the mixture as a mask for hair, restores the hair strength and fights the dryness of the scalp. Avocado is rich in nutrients and vitamins, which are essential for luscious hair, and thus combining it with egg gives it a smoother texture. Applying the mixture at least once a week on wet hair is bound to yield positive results.

2. Butter as a massaging agent

Dry, brittle hair is a result of excessive dryness of the scalp and the roots being deficient of the basic nutrients. If these nutrients are not replenished in time and the brittle hair are not moisturized, they tend to fall leading to excessive hair loss. Butter is one of ingredients often used in massaging agents. Thus, massaging brittle and dry hair with butter helps restoring the glossy look and the nutrients of the hair, thus allowing them to look better. Massage the dry hair with butter and after ten minutes using shampoo rinse it all the butter out.

3. Olive oil as a conditioner

Using conditioners after shampoo to have silkier and smooth hair is a common practice, which often leads to increased damage. Using olive oil as a conditioner prevents the hair from being exposed to excessive chemicals and helps in fighting the dryness of the scalp. The dryness of the scalp causes the roots to become weak, making the hair brittle. Using ½ cup of olive oil (at room temperature) before shampoo, allows the individual to have glossier and lush hair even without the use of a conditioner. Massage the hair with olive oil properly and leave it for 45 minutes after wrapping the olive oil covered hair in a plastic bag. Rinse the oil with shampoo and get glossier and healthier hair.

4. Adding egg into the shampoo

Use of shampoo is bound to damage hair to some extent. While excessive use of shampoo leaves your hair limp, dry and damaged, infrequent use of shampoo may cause excessive oil to be secreted. In order to fight the dilemma of determining the correct amount of shampoo, it is often suggested to tone down its adverse effects. Adding an egg to the shampoo and mixing them together, helps the chemicals to become less harmful.

Along with using the home remedies, infrequent exposure to heat, tying them lightly and oiling them frequently also helps in preventing and fighting damaged, brittle hair.
